Dear Editor:

I was sorry to read only one person showed up for the City Council meeting with Charter Communications. Could it be we are all tired of them?

I have to let them in my backyard because I have a main cable outlet. Many times I have locked up my dog so they could come do their job and no one shows. On March 7 they were in and out of my yard until 9:30 p.m. They asked me to leave my gate unlocked the following week. I told them I would be on vacation and would make arrangements to keep the gate open when I got back.

While on vacation the Charter workers jumped my 6-foot fence to get in my backyard. This meant they had to go in my neighbor’s yard to get to my backyard.

When I got home from vacation I started calling Charter (March 17). My question “who is liable when a worker, without permission, jumps a fence and gets bit by the homeowners dog?” I must have called once a week for six to eight weeks. When a supervisor finally called back, he was more interested in the plant the workers stepped on than my question. How’s that for sidestepping an issue. No wonder I have a dish.
