Las Animas Park.

The Assassins challenged early with a four-run outburst in the first inning. Luis Gamez poked a two-run single and Ivan Acevedo and Felipe Cabrera added run-scoring hits.
Cosa Nostra took the lead in the fifth when a five-run rally generated a 7-5 advantage. Isaiah Gonzalez stroked a three-run triple with two out in the Cosa Nostra explosion.
Tito Flores went 3-for-4 for the winners, Abel Martinez 2-for-2 for the Assassins.
Fine Line Painting settled for second place at 5-1 with a 12-7 nod over God’s Gangsters.
Kent Hendry and John Day each hit a two-run single as Fine Line struck for eight runs in the second inning. Rich Adams produced a single, double and triple for the Painters, Louis Bobadilla three hits for God’s Gangsters.
Doug Franklin, Nathan Mandrell, Kurtis Salter and Kyle Kretz each powered three hits as the Loco Boys stopped the Titans 20-3. Steve Welsh singled and doubled with two RBI for the Titans.
Mario Razo went 4-for-4 and Nathan Mixter went 3-for-3 as the Hitmen surprised Dan Keith Septics 13-10. Eric Badillo powered a home run, triple and single for the Hitmen. Danny Rubalcava hit two home runs and a single for Dan Keith Septics.
K’s Dogs swept a Men’s C League doubleheader Tuesday at Las Animas Park to finish the half at 3-3.
Larry Rodriguez went 4-for-4 and Victor Murray added a triple and two singles as K’s Dogs defeated second-half champion Pacific Coast Bail Bonds 16-9. Eddie Gomez went 3-for-3 and Chris Filice homered for the Bondsmen.
K’s Dogs rallied for two runs with two outs in the bottom of the seventh to edge Ascent Electrical 13-12. Rigo Benavidez and Danny Gonzalez reach base with two-out hits and Tim Sorci followed with a game-winning two-run single. Cesar Lopez went 3-for-4 for the Dogs. Will Hill and Pete Lira hit Ascent home runs.
On Monday, Dutchman’s Pizza defeated the Desperados 6-5 in nine innings Monday to earn a share of the second-half Men’s CCC League title at Las Animas Park.
Pro Electric followed with a 9-6 nod over Temple Inland, leaving Dutchman’s and the Electricians tied for first at 4-2. The co-leaders will complete on Monday Aug. 8 at 6:30pm at Las Animas for the second-half title and a berth opposite No Soup 4 You in next week’s best 2-of-3 Championship Series.
The Desperados built a 4-1 lead after three innings before Eric Tomasetti’s two-run home run in the fourth pulled Dutchman’s even. Phil Clark homered in the Desperados sixth and Dutchman’s countered in the sixth with a Rick Trujillo double and Eric Magana two-out single.
Magana doubled to open the Dutchman’s eighth, scoring on an Anthony Hernandez single.
Pro Electric erased a 5-4 deficit in the sixth inning with a four-run outburst. Mike Sandoval, John Carrillo and Eddie Adame hit consecutive singles to open the Pro sixth. Matt Piedmont delivered a single and triple, Matias Franco a two-run triple for the winners. Jeremy Page homered and Steve Willason went 3-for-3 for Temple Inland.
Campbell’s Towing finished the half at 2-4 with a 19-10 win over the Slammers. Pete Gonzalez went 3-for-4 and Brian Sleeper stroked two doubles for Campbell’s. Dustin Barnes, Ralph Ortez and Noel DeLaTorre cracked Slammer home runs.
California Silk Screening prepped for the Men’s CC Series against Alladin Bail Bonds-Rhino Wiring with a 34-14 win over Countryside Daycare Center Monday at Gavilan Sports Park.
Emilio Vargas and Omar Benitez each homered in a 15-run fourth frame for the 6-0 Screeners. Raul Garcia went 6-for-6, Carlos Garcia 5-for-5 for the winners. Jesse Nunez went 3-for-4 with a three-run triple for Countryside.
Jay Contreras and Oscar Montenegro each went 2-for-3 to lead VFW Vets past Windsor Plumbing 4-1. Nate Moore went 1-for-4 and scored the Windsor run.
