GILROY – The Gilroy City Council will consider the following items of interest at its Nov. 18 meeting:

• A study session on the city’s paramedic program.

• Proposed guidelines on how the city will set up task forces to create a specific plan for the downtown, a policy to mitigate loss of prime agricultural lands in development and rules for mixed-use, neighborhood-style development within some new residential projects.

• A request by Lloyd Martin to subdivide 8.35 acres on the southeast corner of Las Animas Avenue and Monterey Road into nine industrial lots.

• A resolution to allow three properties into Mills Act property tax relief contracts with the city. The act offers property tax relief in exchange for preservation of certain kinds of historic properties.

• Appointment of Trudie Conrotto to a vacant seat on the Public Arts Committee.

• A request to create a benefits program for city employees who take leave to serve in the military.

The study session begins at 6 p.m., with the regular meeting following at 7 p.m. Both are held in the City Council Chambers at Gilroy City Hall, 7351 Rosanna St.
