Christna Castillo made two free throws in the closing minute to seal the Williams victory. Maureen Hughes delivered a team-high 12 points to Williams, while Maxine Chavez followed with 11.
Williams Dental built a 21-17 halftime lead, despite a 13-point assault (including three three-pointers) from Rim guard Rae-Anne Yip.
Yip carried the Rim offense with 24 points. Lee Ann Blean kept the Rim close with four points and as many rebounds. Rim, the defending league champion, powered to a 6-0 first-half mark.
Krazy Koyote-Dutchman’s Pizza moved within one game of the league leaders by stopping Togo’s 39-31. Lilia Flores poured in 20 pointsfor the winners, including 14 in the first half as the Pizza club built a 21-14 lead. Emmelia Flores mustered nine points for Koyote-Dutchman’s. Mel Ponzio scored 12 points for Togo’s.
Bryce Hall scored 20 points Thursday as 4-0 Rocha’s Drywall defeated the Playaz 50-38 in Men’s E League action.
Jose Maciel delivered 11 points to highlight the Rocha’s offense. Paul Garcia responded with 14 points for the Playaz.
Pizza N Stuff-Toto’s Stingers also moved to 4-0 with a 44-27 verdict over Stuft Pizza. Andres Espinosa tossed in 20 points for the Stingers. Isaac Reyes paced the Stuft Pizza attack with 13 points.
Javier Armenta scored 17 points to lead 3-1 Net Magic by the Titans 59-35. Adrian Paco scored 10 points for Net Magic. Ron Reed ignited the Titans with 17 points.
Gaeta’s took a one-game lead in the Men’s D League Tuesday with a 71-51 decision over Morgan Hill Garage Door.
Marmet Williams tallied 26 points as Gaeta’s, the first-half champion, improved to 4-0. David Herrera netted 20 points, Nathan Sanders 13 for Gaeta’s.
Jacob Garcia popped through 24 points for 3-1 Morgan Hill Garage Door.
Mark Cisneros scored 23 points as Dutchman’s Pizza-Krazy Koyote turned back Handmade Healthcare 46-34. Marco Lopez led the Handmade offense with 15 points.
Headstart improved to 2-2 with a 64-56 decision over Fritter-Schulz Physical Therapy. Bob Lemmon exploded for 25 points, Don Hall 24, for the winners. Justin Nicholson provided 15 points and Josh Carter hit for 13 for the Therapists.
