Hospice of the Valley relocates
San Jose – The new address for Hospice of the Valley is 4850 Union Ave. in San Jose. The 16,000-square-foot, two-story building will accommodate the growing demand for the organization’s core services and programs while expanding their community services and programs for end-of-life care in Santa Clara County.

Jerry Miller Band at Fifth Street Live
Gilroy – Looking for a great music experience this weekend? Come check out The Jerry Miller Band at Fifth Street Live this Friday!
The Jerry Miller Band will play Friday, from 7 to 9pm at Fifth Street Live, downtown Gilroy’s summer music series. The free concert will be held outside Happy Dog Pizza Company, on Fifth Street between Monterey and Eigleberry streets.
Hailing from the Pacific Northwest, The Jerry Miller Band is an authentic blues group. Jerry Miller, a founding member of San Francisco’s legendary 1960s rock band Moby Grape, finds his influences in Albert Collins, T-Bone Walker, Muddy Waters, and Joe Jones, as well as Wes Montgomery. Miller is joined by Tiran Porter, former bassist for The Doobie Brothers.
Fifth Street Live is a free concert series sponsored by local Gilroy businesses. Plenty of parking is available off Eigleberry Street. Concerts are held every Friday night from 7 to 9pm through Sept. 29.

SV symphony kicks off season
Gilroy – The South Valley Symphony will kick off their 33rd season opening concert on Saturday, Oct. 7, at 7:30pm at the Gavilan College Theater.
Maestro Anthony Quartuccio announced his intention of featuring local talented musicians appearing as soloists with the orchestra in this year’s series of concerts.
Gav golf tourney
Gilroy – Gavilan College baseball supporters are hosting an annual golf tournament on Friday, Oct. 14, at the Gilroy Golf Course. The tournament, which features a shotgun start format, begins at noon. The day is topped off with a barbecue dinner.
A baseball game pitting alumni against current players is scheduled Saturday, Oct. 15, at the Rams baseball field.
The golf tournament is open to community members as well as alumni, players and boosters. Former players especially are encouraged to register.
