FFA plant sale Saturday
Gilroy – The Gilroy High School Future Farmers of America is staging a plant sale Saturday from 8am to 4pm at the high school green house, located next to the football field.
Buy a brick for park flagpole
Gilroy – Fundraisers for the new veterans flagpole at the ranch site facing Christmas Hill Park, are encouraging residents to purchase an engraved brick to honor a friend or family member. Each brick costs $200.
The tax deductible gift will help finance ongoing maintenance of the memorial.

Cemetery walk
Gilroy – Meet our ancestors, Gilroy’s pioneer leaders, and discover cemetery iconography on a historical walking tour of Gavilan Hills Cemetery. Meet at the cemetery at 10am Saturday. Reservations for the free tour are appreciated.

Traveling softball team tryouts
Gilroy – Garlic City Bandits Tournament Sports Organization will host tryouts for girls 10 and younger softball team at 9am Saturday. The competitive girl’s softball team will play throughout the summer.Â

Flower sale for girls softball
Gilroy – Goldsmith Seeds presents Gilroy Chaos Sports Organization Girls Fast-pitch Softball Flower Sale Fundraiser from 8am to 2pm, Saturday at Jim’s Auto, 298 First St. All proceeds will go toward much needed team equipment for the 2006 season.
