singers, college-age and above. Reading music

Gilroy – Registration is now open for the Gavilan College Concert Choir, which begins its Fall semester on Tuesday and meets every Tuesday from 7:30 to 9:45pm at the Gilroy High School choir room under the direction of Phillip Robb. The choir is open to all singers, college-age and above. Reading music is helpful, but not required.

This semester, the choir will be working on a variety of seasonal music for Winter Concerts, including the Handel’s ‘Messiah’ to be performed with the South Valley Symphony. Singers may register at the Gavilan College Registrar’s Office or pick up materials on the first night of class.

Dance Unlimited Competition Team Auditions

Morgan Hill – Dance Unlimited Performing Arts Studio will be holding Competition Team auditions at 11am on Saturday, Aug. 21, at the studio, located at 15650 Vineyard Blvd. Also, Hip Hop Team auditions will be at 1pm on Sunday. Auditions are for all levels of dancers.

Fundraising kick off

San Martin – Last year the South County Realtors Association gave $20,000, and tons of food to local charities. Our 2004 fundraising and can tree building efforts will kick off Sept. 10, at the San Martin Country Park with an Hawaiian Luau from 5:30 to 8:30pm. The goal is to raise $30,000. Purchase tickets from any of the Can Tree Committee members for $25 for adults and $10 for children up to 18 years. Children younger than 5 are free. There will be lots of raffle prizes to win, activities for children, food, drinks and lots of fun.
