Accident snarls traffic

Gilroy – A big rig crash on U.S. 101 just south of Monterey Road Tuesday morning left one man complaining of pain and slowed traffic for a short period.

The accident occurred about 9:30am when a big rig and pick up truck with a trailer nearly collided sending the pick-up truck into the center divider where it hit the guardrail. The driver of the pick-up complained of pain, but neither driver sustained serious injuries, police said.

Alcohol is not a factor and the crash is under investigation, California Highway Patrol officials said.
