Bill Hednall doubled and tripled in an eight-run seventh inning to clinch the win for the Septicmen. Rich Furtado smashed a home run and two triples for the winners, while Brian Christienson highlighted a 4-for-5 night with a three-run homer. Kurt Gitmed went 4-for-4 and scored four runs and Reynaldo Lara added four hits for the Soup.
The DDD League first half concludes Thursday at Gavilan Sports Park. Dan Keith Setics will challenge 2-3 Bay Sheets at 6:30 p.m. No Soup 4 You faces 2-3 Chippendales at 8:50. Covenant, still in the playoff mix at 3-2, plays winless Plunderers at 7:40.
Victory Outreach rallied for 13 runs in the top of the seventh inning to outlast the Chippendames 27-21. James Jimenez and Joel Vaca each lined two hits in the Victory Outreach seventh. Vaca took game batting honors with five hits. Frank Crue went 4-for-5 and Ed Cordia and Manuel Juarez hit Chippendale homers.
Kenny Maria drilled three extra-base hits and scored four runs to pace Covenant by Bay Sheets 19-17. Brian Moreno plated four runs with a homer and double. Richard Adams went 3-for-4. Shawn Tamateo and Joe Benavides each went 4-for-5 for Bay Sheets.
Krazy Koyotes-Dutchman’s Pizza clinched a tie for the first-half Co-Rec B League crown with a 7-5 edging of Gaeta’s Taqueria Sunday.
Terrance Blackman and Joleen Carrasco hit consecutive run-scoring singles in the fourth inning to snap a 4-4 tie for the winners. Blackman went 4-for-4 and Benny Sanchez and K. C. Adams followed with three hits apiece for Krazy Koyotes-Dutchman’s Pizza. Joel Gaeta hit two homers and a single for Gaeta’s Taqueria.
Cherie Somaiva went 4-for-4 and Tim DeCarlo roped a three-run home run to help Feather Haven Mill defeat Dutchman’s-Big Kahunas 10-7. Brett Scott scored three Mill runs. Cheryl Kern and Manny Rivera each mustered two hits and scored two Kahuna runs.
