Eleven trash cans block the sidewalk in front of the home at 7300 Orchard Drive not too far from Sixth Street. Among stacked chairs on the front lawn, a few out-of-commission cars and plastic bins of junk – is a yard which neighbors would like to see cleaned up.
The front door is partially blocked by what appears to be wooden scarecrows and a canopy frame stands crooked in front of the two-story home’s windows. Weeds and overgrowth is prevalent as well. According to Gilroy’s city code, homeowners are responsible for the upkeep of their lawns, though the sidewalk in front of 7300 Orchard Drive that’s partially blocked is public property.
