In reading Mr. John Zingrich’s letter, I found his comments
concerning. He writes that respect should be earned not assumed.
So, if people follow that thinking then everyone you meet or have
contact with for the first time would deserve no respect.

In reading Mr. John Zingrich’s letter, I found his comments concerning. He writes that respect should be earned not assumed. So, if people follow that thinking then everyone you meet or have contact with for the first time would deserve no respect.
This type of attitude breeds things like road rage and random acts of violence for no reason. Furthermore the respect in this case was not for the person in the costume (it should not matter who was in the costume) it was for the educational process and topic being taught.
