The Gilroy High School Future Farmers of America (FFA) students found much success at the Santa Clara County Fair in late July. Gilroy FFA had 22 students participate in this year’s fair. 

Students brought home top prizes, which included but not limited to: Caitlyn Correia, who won Novice Large Animal Showmanship; Emma Paolini, who won Advance Large Animal Showmanship and Reserve Supreme Market Lamb; Catarina Correia, who won Reserve FFA Market Goat; Holly Driscoll, who won Champion Registered Dairy Heifer; and Dylan Johnson, who won Reserve Champion FFA Steer.

Santa Clara Fair results for Gilroy FFA are as follows:

Dairy Heifer Market and Showmanship Results:

● Don Rose: Second place, Advance Dairy Showman

● Holly Driscoll: Champion, Registered Dairy Heifer

Swine Market and Showmanship Results:

● Sawyer Tankersley: Eighth place, FFA Novice Showman and first in Market Class

● Holly Driscoll: Third Place, FFA Advance Showman, first in Market Class, and Champion Bred and Owned Hog

● Brady Reed: Second place in Market Class

Sheep Market and Showmanship Results:

● Emma Paolini: Grand Champion, FFA Market Lamb and Reserve Supreme Market Lamb

● Ximena Trujillo: FFA Novice Champion Lamb Showman, eighth place in Advance FFA Showmanship, and first in Market Class

● Adrian Figueroa: Fifth place in FFA Novice Showmanship, and first in Market Class

● Olivia Epps: Sixth place in FFA Novice Showmanship, and first in Market Class

● Maribel Garcia: Ninth place in FFA Advance Showmanship

● Kendall Driscoll: Second place in FFA Advance Showman, and Champion Bred and Owned Sheep

Goat Market and Showmanship Results:

● Caitlyn Correia: FFA Novice Champion Goat Showman, Reserve Bred and Fed Goat, and seventh place in Advance FFA Showman

● Daniel Garamendi: Fourth place in FFA Novice Goat Showman

● Catarina Correia: Fifth place in FFA Novice Showmanship, Reserve Champion FFA Market Goat

● Ari Rutman: Sixth place in FFA Novice Showmanship, and second in Market Class

● Yesenia Garcia: Seventh place in FFA Novice Showmanship, and first in Market Class

● Santiago Trujillo: Ninth place in FFA Novice Showmanship, second in Market Class, and third in Bred and Fed

● Elizabeth Paolini: Fifth place in FFA Advance Showmanship, third in Bred and Owned, and first in Market Class

● Emma Paolini: Fourth place in FFA Advance Showmanship, first in Breeding Goat 

Beef Market and Showmanship Results:

● Dylan Johnson: FFA Reserve Champion Market Steer, third place in FFA Novice Showman, sixth in FFA Advance Showman.

● Kendall Driscoll: FFA Novice Champion Beef Showman, second in Market Class
