The kindergarten teachers at Eliot School would like to bring to
the public’s attention all the work andcontributions the Gilroy
Foundation provides for this community. We have been very fortunate
to receive a grant from the Gilroy Foundation to purchase books for
our home literacy library.

The kindergarten teachers at Eliot School would like to bring to the public’s attention all the work andcontributions the Gilroy Foundation provides for this community. We have been very fortunate to receive a grant from the Gilroy Foundation to purchase books for our home literacy library.
It was our hope to provide more books for our students to take home and share with their families and increase literacy and family time within our local community.
Thanks to the Gilroy Foundation for providing us with a generous grant which allows us to begin the development of a home literacy program. We have been able to purchase 2,000 simple fiction and nonfiction books that will be shared with 100 families that attend Eliot School.
Providing students with more opportunities to read at home and practice their new skills and language will then provide for a more literate community. With these books, students and their families have more of an opportunity to share the experience of literacy in both reading and language.
We want to thank the Gilroy Foundation for providing us with our grant and all the various other grants, scholarships, and contributions this organization has provided the community over the years. Please take time to support the events and fundraising that the Gilroy Foundation holds throughout the year for all the community support it provides.
