Vivian Viola Estes Selph

Vivian Viola Estes Selph of San Martin, CA passed away Tuesday, June 15, 2010, of coronary failure. Vivian was born in Ardmore, OK on 4/06/1921 to Roy and Lilly Estes. Vivi (as most friends and family called her) had eight siblings: Clarence, Tommy, Bertha, Velma, Wilmer, Beatrice, Lyndell, and Opal. Vivi married Alvia Selph on July 1, 1936, and had seven children: Shirley, Lloyd, Juanita, Barbara, Debbie, Dawna, and Diana.

Corrine Hallen, 91, fomer teacher and recent resident of Morgan HIll passed away on January 12, 2010.

Glen J. McCarver

Beloved husband of the late Jessie McCarver passed away in Brentwood, CA on Dec.30th at the age of 93 yrs. Glen was a native of Blue Ridge, Texas, and had lived in San Benito County from 1979 until 8 years ago, when he moved to the Antioch area. He had belonged to the Church Of Christ of Hollister; S.I.R.S. at the airport; and Bolado Park Golf Club, where he scored a "hole-in-one" on hole No. 4. Glen spent 32 years as a heavy equipment operator. Surviving is his grandson Mike Gann of Oakley, granddaughter Cathy Green of San Ramon, great-grandchildren Ashley and Cody Green of San Ramon, and son-in-law Ray Medlock of Antioch.

Opal Marie Felice passed away at Mabie Skilled Nursing Center Sunday at the age of 89 years. She was the spouse of the late Anthony P., Felice. Arrangements are pending. A full obituary will appear in wednesdays newspaper.

Stephen Douglas Kennedy

Steve passed away peacefully in Santa Rosa, CA on 12/2/2009 at the age of 88. He was born in Campbell, CA and moved to Hollister in 1933. He enlisted in the U.S. Navy at the start of World War II and proudly served aboard the USS Pennsylvania battleship. Following the war he was co-owner of A & K Motors in Hollister, he then worked at Bishop Motors in Hollister as a mechanic, before beginning a 22 year career with PG&E, retiring in 1983 as a Transportation Superintendent.

Gordon E. Farotte, Sr.

Gordon E. Farotte, Sr., a third generation Gilroy native, passed away at his home in Gilroy, March 15, 2008. He is survived by his wife of sixty years, Maybelle, his four children and their spouses, and eight grand children.

Marjorie Marsano

Marjorie Marsano died on March 1, 2008, at Dominican Hospital. She was 89. Marjorie was born in San Francisco and raised in the Hall District of Watsonville, the middle of 7 brothers and sisters. She attended Salinas High School and then moved to Watsonville. Marjorie was active with Notre Dame Mother's Club and Italian Catholic Federation. As her children and grandchildren were growing up, she attended many of their sporting activities. She loved watching the Oakland A's with her husband and playing blackjack in Lake Tahoe with her family. She leaves two daughters and sons-in-law, Linda (Joe) Daughenbaugh of Hollister and Barbara (Chris) Giovannoni of Watsonville; three granddaughters Jennifer Daughenbaugh of San Juan Bautista, Erin (Robbie Allen) Daughenbaugh of San Francisco, and Gina Giovannoni of Watsonville; two great-granddaughters, Carly Daughenbaugh-Johnson and Abbie Giovannoni; and numerous nieces and nephews. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Monday, March 10, 2008 11:00A.M. at St Patrick's Catholic Church in Watsonville. Burial will follow ay Watsonville Catholic Cemetery. Visitation will be an hour before mass at Mehl's Colonial Chapel. Floral tributes are welcome or donations to Bay School, 5400 Soquel Ave., Santa Cruz, CA 95062, where her great-grandchildren attend.
