Katherine P. Powers passed away at Pacific Hills Manor in Morgan Hill at the age of 88. She and her late husband, Richard, came to Morgan Hill in 1980 to be with her late daughter, Jane Reuter, husband Alfred, and grandsons, Daniel and Stephen. She is also survived by her son, Richard of Manchester, MO, granddaughters, Kimberly Kann and Karin Veltrop, along with four great grandchildren. Private cremation and burial will be held in Massachusetts.
Bondy J. Boscacci passed away Wednesday afternoon at the age of 72 at Hazel Hawkins Memorial Hospital after a lengthy illness. Born in Hollister, he attended Sacred Heart School, Bellarmine High School in San Jose and San Jose State College. Bondy was owner and operator of the San Benito Hotel and Bar for over 50 years. Member of Ridgemark Golf and Country Club and the Hollister Elk's Lodge.
Armand A. Holthouse, born to Mark & Anna Holthouse of Mountain View, passed away Tuesday afternoon at 91 years old. Armand "Bud" Holthouse is survived by his wife of 71 years, Renee M. Holthouse of San Juan Bautista. Also surviving are his five sons, Dennis, (Bev), Ken, (Lisa), Bruce, (Kathy), Brian, (Cynthia) and Craig, (Natalie), Holthouse, all of San Benito County.
Dawn Carol Perry lost her 21-month battle with lung cancer on December 12, 2007. She was born in Port Huron, Michigan, on August 3, 1944, to Richard and Avonne Zander. She came to California in 1968 with her family. Her family was her life. She took pride in decorating her home for the Christmas Holiday Season, as it is her favorite time of the year. She enjoyed making crafts and giving them as gifts to those she loved throughout the year. She loved Carnation flowers and Starbucks Caramel Macchiato. Neil Diamond was her favorite singer. She loved a good card game of Canasta with her friends and enjoyed playing the slots. She was a wife, mother and homemaker for many years. Orchard Supply Hardware became a part of her extended family when in 1981 she went to work for them. She had just celebrated her 25th Anniversary with OSH.
Joseph Edward Grayshock was born in Wallington, New Jersey, married Philomena Grasso on October 12, 1941, and joined the Marine Corp on July 1, 1941. He fought in the South Pacific and was discharged after serving his country for six years. Joseph then settled in California after the war. He was the most loving father, grandfather and great grandfather there ever was. He leaves his wife of 66 years, Philomena (May) Grayshock; his grandson, John J. Cardinalli and his wife Grace; granddaughter, Kara Loupe and her husband Stephen; and his beloved great grandchildren, John William Cardinalli, Olivia Lauren Loupe and Madeline Eve Loupe. He lived well between the "dash". Visitation will be on Thursday, December 13, 2007 from 4-8 pm at Johnson Funeral Home, 17720 Monterey Street in Morgan Hill. A graveside service will take place on Friday, December 14, 2007 at 1:00 P.M. at Mt. Hope Memorial Park in Morgan Hill.
Mona was born in Gilroy, CA and attended schools in Morgan Hill. She leaves her mother Alicia (Alice) Marquez Gonzales (David) from Gilroy, her sister, Julia Ann (Julie) Zollin (Steve), of OR, and her brother, Manuel Avena, Jr. of Susanville. She was preceded in death by her father Manuel Avena, Sr. of Riverbank, CA. The apples of her eye were nephews; Zachary Gutierrez and Noah Zollin, and niece Carolin Zollin. She leaves many uncles, aunts, and a multitude of cousins. Mona worked 20 years for the County of Santa Clara. She will be greatly missed.
