Martha Emma Benidt

Martha Emma Benidt passed away Saturday at the age of 97 at Whispering Pines Inn. Martha was a retired School teacher/principal in Castro Valley. She is survived locally by her niece, Judy Benidt. Jose H. Ferreira passed away September 22, 2009. He is survived by his wife of 27 years, Carmen V. Ferreira; children Oscar (Maricela), Maggie, Nicholas (Rosario), Patricia (Francisco), and Marcus Ferreira; step-children Jose, Jesus, Maria (Jerry Rodriguez), Javier, Paul (Gloria Martinez), Nina (Mark Delgado), Cricelda (Richard Santos), and Esequiel (Lori Martinez); grandchildren Angel, Abel, Harvey, Valerie, Jose Jr., Robert, Steven, Julian Jr., Vincent, Krystal, Veronica, Raymond, Joshua, and Gionna Martinez, Natalie Rodriguez, Nicholas, Carlos, Sebastian, Nicole, Oscar, Francisco, Fernanda, and Vickie Ferreira and many great-grandchildren.

Edward White

Edward passed away on the morning of January 27, 2010. He was a Morgan Hill resident and retired from the Morgan Hill School District. Edward is survived by his daughter, Karen White, his granddaughter Raquel Gonzalez, and two great-grandchildren, Andrae and Clarissa. A viewing will take place on Tuesday, February 2, 2010 from 9:00 - 11:00 A.M. at Johnson Funeral Home, 17720 Monterey St., Morgan Hill. A graveside service will follow at 11:30 A.M. at Mt. Hope Memorial Park, Spring St. at Barnell St., Morgan Hill.

Marcella Mae Muscato

Marcella (Marcy) Mae Muscato passed away peacefully in her home in Oakhurst California. She was formerly of Campbell and Morgan Hill California. A memorial service will be held on Dec. 6, 2008 at Oakhurst Lutheran Church.

Ethelmae Smith

Ethelmae was born in Sacramento, CA. to Garrett and Maybelle Pylman. Her early years were spent on the Courtland ranch with her brothers, James and Robert, and sister Emeline. The family enjoyed their summers in Capitola, escaping from the heat of Sacramento. While in high school, she met the love of her life and her husband of sixty-six years, Ernie Smith. They were married on Valentine's Day, which was her birthday, and continued to farm in the Sacramento area.

Ofelia Lespron Esquivel

Ofelia Lespron Esquivel born January 20, 1923, joined our Heavenly Father on June 22, 2010. Gilroy resident since 1964, she was a homemaker, hospital worker and restaurant owner throughout her life.

Donald K. Shearer

Donald K. Shearer was taken home to be with His Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ at the age of 79. He was born in Berkeley, CA and lived in Tres Pinos since 1991. He lived seven years in Hilmar where his parents published The Hilmar Enterprise and owned a commercial printing shop. He went through grammar school and high school in Garden Grove, CA and his parents published The Garden Grove News and owned a commercial printing plant. He graduated from Cal Poly in San Luis Obispo with a bachelors degree in Printing. He was a commissioned officer in the US Navy Reserve serving three years aboard an amphibious attack cargo ship. He spent time as an assistant mechanical production manager, Wall Street Journal in San Francisco. He sold printing, typesetting and commercial graphic art creation for 28 years for George Lithograph Company in San Francisco. He married his wife, Jackie Hain, in 1978 in State Line, NV. He was a member of Sunnyslope Christian Center in Hollister.

David W. Amendt

David W. Amendt aged 45 years passed away suddenly in Hollister on Sunday May 16th, 2010. David was a native of Summers, NJ, a former resident of San Jose, and a current resident of Hollister for the last 10 years. David was a Manager of the tire and automotive department for Rossi's of Monterey.
