Michael Murphy, a test engineer from Gilroy, competed on the long-running quiz show “Jeopardy!” which aired March 24.
Murphy answered 10 questions correctly, and one incorrectly. He placed first at the end of the first round, but dropped to third after the second.
For the final clue, “In math, it’s a rotated V; in society it’s a feeling of some marginalized or underrepresented people,” Murphy answered incorrectly with “subdivision,” when the correct answer was “less than.”
Friends and family gathered at the Milias Restaurant in downtown Gilroy to watch the episode, and after the show, Steve Siacotos sang for the rest of the evening.
