Dear Editor,

Gavilan is in great shape. Enrollment is close to 6,000 students and our satellite campuses in Morgan Hill and Hollister are full. Gavilan’s athletic program is rebuilding, and we are under the leadership of a strong and proactive administration. Thanks to the passage of Measure E in 2004, we are in the process of purchasing land in Coyote Valley and Hollister to build new campuses. We have also begun construction on our Gilroy campus to upgrade and improve facilities. This year Gavilan has also received a significant funding increase from our legislature.
Gavilan’s Board of Trustees has worked hard to balance the budget while increasing academic offerings and community access to education. I am asking you to support the current board through the next four years so that we can continue to implement our strategic plan with integrity and continuity. To achieve this, please join me in voting for Elvira Robinson and Kent Child on Nov. 7.
Laura A. Perry, Gavilan College Board of Trustees
