The Gilroy Police responded to a variety of crimes Jan. 8 through Jan. 14, including a lewd and lascivious act, vandalism, assault, narcotics possession, fraud and a number of auto burglaries.

Lewd and lascivious acts

-On Jan. 8 at 4:22 p.m. along the levy directly behind Gilroy High School’s football field an unknown male suspect has been discovered four times within the past four months masturbating as women walk by.

Narcotics possession

-On Jan. 9 at 3:19 p.m. on the 700 block of Gettysburg Way Eric Cruz, 18, was found in possession of marijuana after being discovered smoking marijuana by Gilroy High School staff. Cruz was cited and released.

Fraud

-On Jan. 7 at an unknown time on the 6100 block of Starling Drive, an unknown suspect used a victim’s credit card number to make several charges on the Internet.

-On Jan. 7 at an unknown time on the 200 block of Ronan Avenue an unknown suspect cashed a fraudulent check from the victim’s bank account.

Auto burglary

-On Jan. 7 at approximately 7:30 a.m. on the 8100 block of Murray Avenue, unknown suspects broke the driver’s side window and removed a wallet, containing a California driver’s license, a Nordstrom credit card, $18 in cash and a nurse’s license.

-On Jan. 7 at approximately 6 a.m. on the 500 block of Church Street, unknown suspects shattered a right front window of a car and stole a CD player.

-On Jan. 8 at 3:22 p.m. on the 400 block of First Street, unknown suspects broke the driver’s side window, vandalized a victim’s car, breaking door handles and the luggage rack, and stole a pair of prescription glasses, and two bags of new clothing.

-On Jan. 8 at approximately 5:30 a.m. on the 8500 block of Church Street, unknown suspects broke the passenger window of a vehicle and stole a bag containing a Visa debit card, a designer purse, a blue one-strap backpack, cycling shoes, leather cycling gloves, a California drivers license, and a pink container of pepper spray.

-On Jan. 8 at 1:30 p.m. in an alley on the 7300 block of Monterey Street, unknown suspects riding bikes broke the front passenger window and took a brown tote bag left on the front seat of the vehicle.

-On Jan. 9 at 10 p.m. on the 6900 block of Monterey Street, unknown suspects smashed four windows on a vehicle and stole a CD/radio and a stereo faceplate. Loss and damages totaled approximately $1,500.

-On Jan. 10 at 11:15 p.m. on the 7500 block of Monterey Street, unknown suspects broke the driver’s side window of a locked vehicle and stole a black wallet, a social security card, a California driver’s license, a Wells Fargo debit card and Bank of America Visa credit card. The debit card was reported used at a later time at Verizon.

-On Jan. 11 at 2:39 p.m. on the 100 block of Fourth Street, an unknown suspect broke the driver’s side window of a vehicle and stole a wallet containing cards from Bank of America, County Federal Credit Union, Discover, Macy’s, TJ Maxx and Target.

-On Jan. 11 at 8:49 p.m. on the 800 block of Day Road an unknown suspect broke the driver’s side window of a locked vehicle and stole a black leather bag that contained school supplies.

-On Jan. 12 at 7 p.m. on the 7600 block of Monterey Street a parked U-Haul trailer was broken into and musical instruments worth $9,600 was stolen. The instruments included: a black Gabanelli guitar in a brown case; a white Gabanelli accordion with a silver case; blue conga drums; silver colored alto horn with a black case; and Zilgian brand symbols.

-On Jan. 12 at 11 a.m. on the 7600 block of Monterey Street unknown suspects smashed a rear passenger window of a vehicle and stole a leopard-print purse, a gray women’s wallet, West America Bank Visa debit cards, $80 in cash, insurance cards issues to the victim’s children, make-up, and women’s perfume.

-On Jan. 11 at approximately 2 p.m. on the 900 block of Feragelli Court an unknown suspect broke into the vehicle and took a stereo faceplate and Nextel cell phone.

Vandalism

-On January 8 at 11:18 a.m. on the 8100 block of Kelton Drive an unknown suspect slashed the tires of a victim’s vehicle.

-On Jan. 10 at 11:05 p.m. on the 8400 block of Wren Avenue James Harris, 43, used a chair to break a window at the National Guard Armory. Harris was arrested for vandalism.

-On Jan. 11 at 10:08 a.m. on the 7500 block of Alexander Street an unknown suspect used an unknown object to slash a tire on the victim’s vehicle.

Assault

-On Jan. 10 at 8:49 p.m. on the 7100 block of Camino Arroyo a male subject pushed a female victim and wouldn’t let her leave the premises. The male subject and the victim live together and have a child. The district attorney is currently reviewing this case.
