All proceeds are tax deductible and will be used to help send the choir to Germany in April. Make your requests while dates are still available.

Give and receive
GILROY – Garlic City Coffee and Tea, 7501 Monterey St., is home to a donation barrel for the Salvation Army. Anyone who brings in nonperishable food or an unwrapped toy will receive a coupon for their next visit. The barrel will be out through Thursday, Dec. 11. Details: Karen at 842-4220.
Children Christmas play
GILROY – Pacific West Christian Academy will perform a Christmas musicals at the South Valley Community Church, 8095 Kelton Drive. Children in grades 3 through 6 will perform “Meet Me at the Manger” at 7 p.m. today.

Write to Santa Â
GILROY – Children are invited to make a wish list and mail it to Santa.
City of Gilroy Youth Commissioners and volunteers from the Senior Center will assist Santa Claus by writing a personal response to your letter. This is free of charge and for Gilroy residents only.
Letters should be dropped off at the Community Services Department at City Hall, 7351 Rosanna St., by Friday, Dec. 12.

Holiday wine boutique
GILROY – Fortino Winery, 4525 Hecker Pass Highway, will hold a Holiday Boutique on Sunday, Dec. 14, from 1 to 5 p.m. Barrel tasting, mulled wine, gift baskets and fourteen vendors displaying items will be available for your last minute holiday shopping. Bring in a canned food item and Fortino Winery will donate it to help feed the hungry for the holidays. Details: 842-3305.
Santa in the park
GILROY – The Gilroy Police and Fire Departments are hosting Santa at San Ysidro Park, located at the corner of Chestnut and Murray Avenues, on Wednesday, Dec. 17, from 1:30 to 5 p.m., in the recreation room. MORGAN HILL – The South Valley Civic Theatre presents “The 1940’s Radio Hour,” a play, on Fridays and Saturdays, through Dec. 13 at 8 p.m., at the Morgan Hill Community Playhouse, located at Dunne Avenue and Monterey Street. Advent Church plays
MORGAN HILL – Two Christmas plays will be performed at Advent Lutheran Church, 16870 Murphy Avenue, on Sunday, Dec. 14, at 9:30 a.m. “Shepherds’ Wait,” written and directed by Marc Northcott, features children in preschool through second grades. “The Birds of Bethlehem,” directed by Jennifer Hamilton, features children in
grades 3 through 7, the Pacem Children’s Choir and several adult parts. The community is invited and the performances are free.
