Dear Editor,
The letter of David Kaeini of Gilroy, in response to Mr. Sawyer, expresses a strong point of view, reflecting the fact that you can believe in something strongly and still be completely wrong. It is very hard to respect religious views when they so blatantly ignore fact and evidence and reason while clinging to the comforts of what they learned in childhood.
I wonder if his idea that “Intelligent Design” should be taught alongside the Theory of Evolution, presenting both sides of this case to our kids in schools and letting them decide what they choose to believe, also means that “ID” should be taught alongside the Theory of Gravity, Atomic Theory, and the Theory of Chemistry, and so on. Should “ID” be taught in every science class even thought it has not produced any science whatsoever and is not a science? I recommend Mr. Kaeini take a course in science, even on the Theory of Evolution, and try to realize how remarkable and wonderful it is. Thank you for your attention,
