Making his much anticipated return to Miller Lite Fight Night at the Tank is Cortes – who last fought at HP Pavilion in September of 2003, suffering the only defeat of his career, a controversial disqualification to Errol Banner of Los Angeles. Since that time, Cortes has avenged that defeat, overpowering Banner with a third round TKO at the Olympic Auditorium in Los Angeles this past March to capture the California Super Middleweight title.
Harmon is a hard-hitting adversary who will be looking to establish himself as a fan-favorite with the HP Pavilion crowd. Harmon will be making his second appearance at Miller Lite Fight Night having scored an impressive victory over opponent Oliver Foy with a first-round KO in March.
Butterbean has held titles as the IBA Super Heavyweight Champion and WAA Belt Super Heavyweight Champion as well as Toughman Champion and World Wrestling Entertainment’s Brawl For All Boxing Champion. Highlights in the career of this native of Jasper, AL include being credited with a knock down of legendary boxer Larry Holmes and a first round TKO of Peter McNeely in 1999.
Jeffries is no stranger to Miller Lite Fight Night at the Tank as this will be her seventh appearance at HP Pavilion at San Jose. In her six previous fights at the Tank, Jeffries has not lost a bout. She has defeated Karen Martin (MD 6), Sosadea Razo (UD 4), Rolanda Andrews (UD 10), Melissa Del Valle (UD 6), Kelli Cofer (UD 10) and Linda Tenberg (UD 6).
Her victory over Martin gave Jeffries the inaugural California Women’s Featherweight Title. Since then Jeffries has added the WIBA Intercontinental Super Featherweight Title and IFBA Featherweight Title to her list of accolades.
Rios made his professional boxing debut in May at Miller Lite Fight Night at the Tank earning his first career victory, a fifth round TKO over Damon Franklin.
Barragan impressed Miller Lite Fight Night at the Tank fans in March when he scored a second round TKO over Edgar Sabal.
In addition to the July 22 event, two more dates are scheduled for later in the year: September 23 and November 18. All cards are also scheduled to begin at 7:30 p.m. Dates are subject to change.
