Dear Editor,

The Dispatch headline “LAFCO holds hammer over city” is clearly biased.

You fail to mention that without LAFCO, Gilroy’s growth would be far worse and the consequences would be more severe. For example, the traffic and smog would be more unbearable than today. You fail to mention the consequences of rampant growth contribute to the need to expand city services which will often trigger more tax increases. You fail to mention exactly what is terribly wrong with developing interior pockets of land.

Gilroy is rapidly becoming a carbon copy of every other urban jungle in California, and if LAFCO can slow the growth, they should be commended.

John Zingrich, Gilroy
