‘Scrooge! the Musical’ on stage

‘Just So Stories’ on stage at Gavilan
Join us for this lively and fanciful collection of original stories by Rudyard Kipling, brought to life on stage by Gavilan College Theatre.
Kipling’s whimsical short tales include How the Camel Got His Hump, How the Rhinoceros Got His Skin, and How the Elephant Got His Trunk. Breakfast supper helps Lions Club
The Gilroy Lions Club will hold its annual Omelet and Pancake Supper from 5 to 7:30 p.m. today, at the Presbyterian Church, 6000 Miller Ave., Gilroy. Tickets available at the door. Cost is $6 for adults, $3 for children 12 and younger. All proceeds benefit the Lions Club’s sight program.

While there’s no official sign proclaiming it, the message permeates the redwood and madrone forest surrounding the Mount Madonna School campus and facilities: “Welcome to our 355 acre classroom … a community where childhood is a treasure … and young adults become scholars.”

Holiday boutique benefits dance group
The Lana Wright Competition Dancers are holding a Holiday Boutique from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 8, at The Lana Wright Dance Studio, 16060 Caputo Drive, Morgan Hill. Shop for a variety of specialty items as well as home baked goodies and crafts, made by the dancers themselves. This fundraiser benefits the Lana Wright Competition Dancers, a non-profit youth organization.

Meet Santa in San Ysidro Park
Santa Claus will hear present requests and spread mirth in San Ysidro Park, between 2 and 4:30 p.m. Dec. 12. All children are invited to the event, held in the recreation room near the intersection of Murray Avenue and Chestnut Street. There will also be music, police officers and firefighters for children to meet, and goodie bags for the first 450 children. Free pictures with Santa.

Candlelight vigil recalls victims

‘Footloose’ dances onto stage
