Transit alternative for festival-goers

San Jose – The Valley Transportation Authority is reminding Gilroy Garlic Festival attendees that there is an alternative to driving in gridlock, particularly with the garlic train unavailable again this year.

The VTA’s Line 68 bus that starts at Diridon Station in San Jose ends at either Gilroy’s transit center at Monterey and Seventh streets, or at Gavilan College. The Gavilan College stop is recommended, as it stops nearest the festival parking area on West Tenth and Princevalle streets. The bus runs every 30 minutes today, and every hour Saturday and Sunday.

One-way bus fare for adults over 18 is $1.75, for youth aged 5 to 17 is $1.50, and for senior/disabled is 50 cents. One day passes are $5.25, $2.50, and $2.25, respectively. Day passes grant free rides on any VTA but or light rail for that day purchased only.

Meeting rescheduled
