St. Patrick’s Benefit Dinner
Gilroy – St. Joseph’s Family Center is hosting a St. Patrick’s Dinner Saturday, March 18. All proceeds from the event will benefit the families in need and the homeless in the Gilroy community.
The dinner will be held at St. Mary Auditorium, 11 First St. Doors open at 6pm and dinner begins at 7pm. Tickets are $25 per person or $200 per table (seating 8). Tickets are available at St. Joseph’s Family Center, 7950 Church St, Ste. A. Details: 842-6662.
Motorist Still Unknown
Gilroy – The identity of the 20-year-old man killed while crossing U.S. 101 Monday night has not been officially released by the Santa Clara County Coroner’s office pending notification of next of kin.
The man was killed about 8:30pm, after sideswiping a big truck near Highway 25. When he exited his Honda Accord, which was resting against the center median, he attempted to run across U.S. 101 southbound, police said. He was hit in the fast lane. No charges will be filed against the driver.
