Exam delayed for disabled students
Sacramento – The California Department of Education settled a lawsuit with disability rights advocates that will give disabled 2006 graduates more time to prepare for the California High School Exit Exam.
The settlement is in effect for only one year, and applies only to students with disabilities who are on a diploma track for graduation in 2006.
Historical Society meeting and BBQ
Gilroy – The Historical Society hold their annual meeting an pot luck barbecue from noon to 3pm Saturday at Solis Winery, 3920 Hecker Pass Highway. Lunch of tri-tip will be served at a short business meeting. Guest speaker will be Angelo Bertero, who will talk about the history of the winery, which was owned by his family.
The winery will provide atmosphere, shade, tables and chairs. Following our meeting, there will be opportunity for a tour of the winery and, of course, wine tasting.

Auditions for children’s theatre
Gilroy – The Gilroy Community Services Department and the Rainbow Children’s Theatre are working together to put on “The Wonderful Wizard of Oz,” this fall. And the first step to putting on a show is finding the young actors.
