Car show on March 6 at auto dealers

Gilroy Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram and Gilroy Chevrolet Cadillac are hosting a car show on March 6 from noon to 5pm at 455 Automall Drive.

The show, which is free to attend, will feature various exotic, classic and low rider vehicles. Free food and music will also be offered.

A radio station will be on-site from 2-4pm, with prizes and giveaways including free tickets for Marc Anthony and Pancho Ba.

Chamber events on tap

The Gilroy Chamber of Commerce will host an after hours mixer at its office on March 10 from 5:30-7pm at 7471 Monterey St.

A prize will be raffled off at the event.

The next week, the chamber will hold Coffee and Commerce at the Hilton Garden Inn, 6070 Monterey St., on March 16 at 7am.

Book sale returns to library

The Friends of the Gilroy Library holds a book sale every second Saturday of the month from 10am-1pm at the library, 350 West Sixth St.

The next sale will be held March 12.

Prices vary from 50 cents for paperbacks or $1 for hardcovers. Purchase individual items or a full bag ($5 for members and $8 for nonmembers).

The library bookstore is open Mondays through Fridays from 1-3pm. The Friends are also looking for donations of science fiction and fantasy books.

Spice of Life Awards set for March 26

The Gilroy Chamber of Commerce’s annual Spice of Life Awards Ceremony is scheduled for March 26 from 5:30–8:30pm. 

This year’s event will be held at the CineLux Theaters, 6851 Monterey St. in Gilroy. The themed event, “There’s No Place Like Home,” will celebrate and recognize the achievements of the following award recipients:

• Man of the Year: Tom Cline

• Woman of the Year: Kathleen Rose

• Large Business of the Year: CordeValle

• Small Business of the Year: The Neon Exchange

• Educator of the Year: Nicky Austin

• Volunteer of the Year: Andrea Nicolette 

• Non-Profit of the Year: One Giving Tree

• Young Professionals of the Year: Andrew Briggs and Leo Khooshabeh

• Susan Valenta Youth Leadership Award: Alyssa E. Gonzalez
