Margery V. White Porcella died peacefully at home Thursday
afternoon, Sept. 30, 2004, at the age of 92.

Mrs. Porcella was born and raised in Gilroy. She graduated from Gilroy High School and earned her Bachelor’s Degree from San Jose State University. Later she received her teaching credential. She lived in Vallejo from 1942 to 1987 and taught school in the Vallejo school system. She returned to Gilroy in 1987 and has been a resident ever since. She was a member of St. Mary’s Church. She enjoyed oil painting and she loved to read and go camping.

She is the wife of the late Frank Porcella (1988); the mother of Diane Porcella of Gilroy, Alan Porcella and his wife Hilda of Gilroy, Edward Porcella and his wife Karen of Walnut Creek, Ronald Porcella and his wife Georgia of Clovis, Jean Molzner and her husband Richard of Fremont, Gerrie Linek and her husband Henry of Oakley, and Glen Porcella of Concord; the grandmother of Julie, Thomas, Michael, Robert, Josie, Elizabeth, David, Kathleen, Charles, Annie, Christine, Maria, Jinae, Hanson and Brian; the great-grandmother of four; the sister of the late George White Jr, Sarah Lee Montgomery and Fadra Butler. She also is survived by many nieces, nephews and cousins.

A vigil will be held at 7pm, Monday, Oct. 4, 2004, at Habing Family Funeral Home.

Funeral services will begin at 9:30am, Tuesday, Oct. 5, 2004, at the funeral home, then to St. Mary’s Church for Mass at 10am. Burial will follow at St. Mary’s Cemetery, Gilroy.
