I opened the paper today and noticed that the world lost another
good soul by the name of Mary Ann Hopf.
Let me take you back to 1991, when I was a sixth grader and the
world was simple. Mrs. Hopf was always on the soccer field during
recess and lunch time inspiring us to play soccer and be
active.
Mary Ann was very special to me as well. I had the privilege to know Mary Ann since I was a very small child. I grew up with her daughter Dionne on the street of Alexander in Gilroy. I have experienced the death of loved ones but none have affected me as much as the passing of Mary Ann. Memories of her are powerful and warm. She has left a lasting impression on many. Evidently her job here was done, how lucky for us that we were part of that “job”. Thank you Mary Ann for always being so warm and loving. You are missed.
