Mary Emma Cutter, 84, a native of Gilroy and a graduate of Gilroy High School, passed away February 29, 2012 surrounded by her loving family. She is survived by her longtime companion Merle Johnson, her beloved children Stephen (Jane) and Michael (Michele) Nowakowski, adoring grandmother of Dennis Bedolla, Nicole Bedolla, Meghan Kovaleski (Craig) and Marissa Nowakowski, and great-granddaughter Kaitlin Habing; loving sister of Joyce Marks (Bob), Bruno Filice (Pearl) as well as many nieces and nephews.
Mary was preceded in death by her wonderful husband Leonard Cutter, daughter Susan Bedolla, parents Cici and Clementina Filice, and brother Frank Filice.
Mary retired from Bank of America in Gilroy after 30 years of service. She was an active member of St. Mary Church and St. Mary Bible Study Group. She was also a member of The St. Louise Hospital Auxiliary, The Italian Catholic Federation and a member of Women in Touch II. Mary was the proud winner of The 4th Annual Garlic 2008 No-Limit Texas Hold ‘Em Tournament.
Her memorial mass will take place on Friday, March 9th, 2012, at 1:00 P.M. at St. Mary Church in Gilroy. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to St. Joseph Family Center.
