Police continue to respond to burglaries and attempts at homes in east Morgan Hill, though detectives do not think the latest incidents are related to a string of burglaries that happened in the Jackson Oaks neighborhood late last year.

Tuesday morning, two homeowners on the 17300 block of Tassajara Court, near Criollo Way, reported that during the night someone had removed screens from windows in the rear of the houses. One of the residents also reported having heard rustling sounds outside the home about 6:50 a.m.

Although no entry was made to the homes, police think at least two to four unknown males removed the screens to see if the windows were unlocked, according to Morgan Hill Police Sgt. Jerry Neumayer. The suspects might have been driving two Ford F-150 pickup trucks.

On Friday, two residential burglaries were reported in the area around Fountain Oaks Drive. In a burglary that happened on the 2400 block of Fountain Oaks Drive, a television and other items were missing. The burglar or burglars entered the home through the back door.

Another burglary on the 16600 block of Buckskin Court, also reported Friday, resulted in stolen computers, cameras and jewelry. The home was ransacked, according to police.

The homeowner’s property backed up to that of the home that was burglarized on Fountain Oaks Drive.

Police continue to investigate the burglaries. A string of similar incidents was reported in the nearby Jackson Oaks neighborhood last year. The suspect or suspects in those crimes waited until the homeowners were not there to gain entry and search for items to steal, police said.

Anyone with information about these crimes may contact the Morgan Hill police at (408) 779-2101 or the anonymous tip line at (408) 947-7867.
