illness.
Millie Brahy, 83, died Thursday in Gilroy after a lengthy illness.
She was a native of Chicago. She moved to Gilroy 24 years ago from San Carlos. She was a member of the Gilroy Presbyterian Church, past president of the Gilroy Lions, longtime Saint Louise Regional Hospital and Wheeler Hospital volunteer and a member of the Gilroy Women In Touch, Sons of Italy, Lodge #1751 Gilroy, Madonna Circle Order of Druids #177 Gilroy and a charter member of the Fabulous Flappers.
She was the wife of the late Ray Brahy; mother of Ron Chaloupka and his wife, Diane, of Belmont; Rick Chaloupka, of Oregon, and Lynn Marquesen, and her husband, Dave, of San Mateo; grandmother of Dave Chaloupka, of Belmont, Michael Chaloupka, of Placerville, Shellene Berzler, of Douglasville, Ga., and Sara Curry, of San Mateo. She is also survived by her late husband’s children and their families; aunt of Pat Jezo, of San Jose, and Dennis Kucera, of Illinois. She was preceded in death by her sister, Rose Jezo. She was the dearest friend of Rosie Mammini of San Martin.
Visitation will be Wednesday from noon to 8 p.m. at Habing Family Funeral Home, Gilroy. Funeral services will be Thursday at 10 a.m. at Gilroy Presbyterian Church. Burial will follow at 3 p.m. at Skylawn Memorial Park, San Mateo.
