Loving records team-high 11 kills in five-game home victory
GILROY – The Gilroy High boys volleyball team won its second straight league contest with Friday’s five-game home victory over Hollister.
The Mustang spikers (4-4 overall, 2-2 in T-CAL) opened with a 25-17 game-one win, but dropped the second game, 25-16. Gilroy took a 2-1 lead with a 25-19 decision in game-three, but Hollister followed with a 25-19 win in game-four. In the fifth rally game, the Mustangs came through with a 15-5 clinching victory.
Senior hitter Kyle Loving led the offense with a team-high 11 kills.
Gilroy, which is tied for first place in league, will go on a two-match road trip with a stop in Alisal on March 24 and Monterey on March 26.
