Sunny skies and green fields carpeted with wildflowers greeted visitors at Pacheco State Park’s Fifth Annual Wildflower Day Saturday. Organizers estimated about 200 people attended this event – a record number for any special event at Pacheco State Park. More than 30 people were treated to spectacular views of two golden eagles on the birding hike.

About 40 people took the wildflower hike, where they learned about the Native American uses of plants as they hiked out to an overlook with a panoramic view of San Luis Reservoir. The adobe history walk saw 30 hikers, who saw the remains of a Pacheco adobe.

Although Wildflower Day is celebrated once a year, the wildflower hike and adobe history walk are being offered weekends for the rest of April.
