Sakata Seeds, 18095 Serene Drive in Morgan Hill, had a ribbon cutting Oct. 16. Sakata was celebrating both their return to the Chamber of Commerce and their new solar power throughout their facility. In attendance were Sakata employees, various members of the Chamber of Commerce and many more.

Allstate agency owner Arline Silva received the Agency Hands in the Community Award for Silva’s commitment to helping others. With this award came a $1,000 grant from The Allstate Foundation for Advent Group Ministries Inc., where Silva volunteers.

NTime Events USA celebrates grand opening
NTime Events USA celebrated its grand opening and ribbon cutting Saturday, Nov. 9 at the Bella Viva Wine Bar, 7423 Monterey St. in Gilroy. Based in California and Rio, Brazil, Ntime Events USA provides Brazilian-themed events, tourism and executive business travel services to Rio, Brazil. NTime Events USA was founded this year in Gilroy and will be offering ongoing Brazilian themed events. Owner Sally Arruda was born and raised in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil and has lived in the United States for 30 years - but still maintains her charming Brazilian accent and culture.
Donate Toys For Tots
Coldwell Banker Residential Brokerage’s annual Toys for Tots program runs until Dec. 13. Offices in Northern California will serve as collection centers for new, unwrapped toys for needy children in our communities. Members of the United States Marine Corps Reserve will pick up the toys and deliver them to charitable organizations and social welfare agencies in the area. Additionally, the public is encouraged to donate new and gently used winter items for the homeless and needy in their local communities as part of the annual One Warm Coat drive. Donate at 8050 Santa Theresa Blvd., Ste. 210 in Gilroy or 950 Tennant Station in Morgan Hill.

Summit Funding held a ribbon cutting Sept. 12. Summit Funding is a mortgage loan company and is run in Morgan Hill by Jarrod Fassio. The Morgan Hill Chamber of Commerce welcomes Summit Funding, located at 16360 Monterey St., Suite 210.
Victoria’s celebrates 30 years
Sept. 28 marked the 30-year anniversary for Victoria's Mexican Restaurant, 757 First St. Owners and family partners, Linda Prieto, Carmen Mendosa, Patricia Prieto, Melinda Hathaway, Vikki Prieto-O'Hara and Donald Prieto were on hand to welcome guests - even Elvis stopped by.
Center applies for grant
Extreme Learning Center has applied for a $250,000 grant from Chase as part of a newly launched program, Mission Main Street Grants. Extreme Learning Center must submit a questionnaire outlining a business plan that will result in growth of the business and receive at least 250 votes to be eligible for a grant. Customers, fans and community members can show support for Extreme Learning Center by voting at www.missionmainstreetgrants.com/business/detail/23090. Voting deadline is Nov. 15. The recipients will be announced in January 2014.
