The sentencing for a four-time DUI offender and Gilroy man found guilty of murder by a jury in May for a 2009 DUI crash that instantly killed a 6-year-old boy in San Jose is set for Aug. 31. 

The City of Gilroy could have to pay as much as $1.25 million in damages after a federal civil jury Tuesday found a Gilroy police officer was negligent when he fatally shot a 33-year-old man four years ago on Pacheco Pass.

The Santa Clara County District Attorney's Office has charged a Gilroy man on two counts of molesting a four-year-old girl.

Gilroy Police reported a total of 15 arrests—all related to alcohol—during the three-day Garlic Festival at Christmas Hill Park, which was attended by an estimated 100,000 garlic lovers.
