A Hollister man was arrested in Gilroy on Oct. 17 for attempted murder, two counts of attempted carjacking, armed robbery, kidnapping, burglary and terrorist threats. 

Doctor charged with illegal drug sales

A top administrator of Santa Clara County’s health plan was charged with 18 felonies this week, accused of trading prescriptions for addictive drugs - including Oxycontin - in return for cash and methamphetamine, according to authorities from the Santa Clara County District Attorney’s office.

Mom accused of using daughter to steal from Safeway out on bail

Marcy Erico, the woman who allegedly used her 10-year-old daughter to steal groceries from Safeway, is out of custody on $50,000 bail following a hearing related to the case Tuesday, authorities said.

Suspect in slaying of Hollister woman charged with murder, kidnapping

David J. Quiroz, 30, of Hollister was arraigned Tuesday afternoon on charges alleging murder and kidnapping for ransom with bodily harm in the death of Heather Carroll, 25, who was found in his Cerra Vista home by law enforcement authorities on Saturday.
