A masked robber whipped out a gun and demanded money from the register at Styles For Less, a bargain clothing store near Panera Bread on Camino Arroyo, at 12:50 p.m. on Monday. 

Francisco Dominguez, a former Gilroy Unified School District trustee who is charged with two counts of felony grand theft after he allegedly embezzled more than $52,000 from a leading South County social services agency, will appear in court for an arraignment at 9:30 a.m. Tuesday in Dept. 23 of the Hall of Justice in San Jose.

This week, police responded to burglaries, hit-and-runs and assaults. Here are a couple incidents:

After a six-week long investigation, Gilroy Police arrested a Gilroy man Wednesday for a gang-related shooting that occurred on the 100 block of Old Gilroy Street in September. 

In light of late notice given to the public for Tuesday’s controlled burn that blanketed the region with a smoky haze, an air pollution district official said the agency plans to work with Calfire to improve notification for residents.

Gilroy Police are asking for the public’s assistance in locating two suspects in a burglary on the 7300 block of Wren Avenue at 9 a.m. Oct. 10.

Calfire is conducting a prescribed burn Tuesday on 1,000 acres  – a blaze that is visible throughout the region.

The Morgan Hill woman who accidentally hit and critically injured Joshua Valdez with her vehicle this summer pleaded guilty to felony hit and run.
