CHS’s first principal graduates to district office
John Perales, who has been at the helm of Christopher High School since its opening in 2009, took another step up the career ladder when the Gilroy Unified School District's Board of Education voted June 20 to appoint him as their first Director of Human Resources for Certificated Staff.
Senior Spotlights 2013
Selecting students for the Gilroy Dispatch's annual senior spotlight honor is no enviable task. That's why we make the principals do it (and they resent us for making them narrow it down to one!) These students have navigated the labyrinth of high school hurdles and we are inspired by their optimistic outlook, refreshing attitudes and heartfelt honesty. We celebrate them, their families, their mentors and all the graduating seniors in the Class of 2013 for their accomplishments and wish them the best of luck and a fulfilling future.
GUSD to vote on consulting firm for parcel tax
The Gilroy Unified School District will vote next week on a $16,500 contract with San Francisco-based consulting firm TBWB Strategies, to determine the feasibility of putting a parcel tax before voters in order to obtain local funding for Gilroy schools.
