School cuts: Library clerks, janitors, district office staff

Along with guidance from a County fiscal advisor, the Gilroy Unified School District passed a list of $2 million in budget cuts for next school year, including the elimination of all library clerks.

The Gilroy and Christopher High School Choirs will present their winter concerts at 7:30 p.m. Dec. 18 and 19 at the GHS Student Center, located on campus at 750 West 10th Street. For the finale song, “Hallelujah Chorus,” Choral Director Phil Robb expects about 250 students and returning alumni to participate.

What you need to know about Gavilan’s graduation Friday

Gavilan College will award 1,122 degrees and certificates to graduating students at the annual commencement ceremony Friday at 6 p.m. The afternoon starts with a procession of graduates walking from the Arts Quad, along Sycamore Lane, over the bridge, and into the gymnasium, where they are greeted by family and faculty.
