$42K pay raise under scrutiny – again
Gavilan College President Steve Kinsella’s $42,000 salary raise is under fire again – though this time it’s because a local Latino advocacy group alleges the Gavilan College board violated the Brown Act in an October meeting when they approved increasing his pay from $234,090 to $276,090 by 2015.
School campuses off limits after hours
For the last decade, the Gilroy Unified School District has been installing fences to keep children safe from intruders – a project that was ramped up after the Sandy Hook Elementary school shooting in December 2012. But the fact GUSD is keeping many of its playgrounds closed after hours has recently caught the attention of City Council.
