Margaret "Peggy" Fitzgerald, 89, of White Salmon,WA, died on July 24, 2010, at home. Born Margaret Lorraine Thomas on August 5, 1920, in Gilroy, she was the daughter of the late James Edward Thomas and the late Evelyn Margaret Stanley. Raised on a ranch in Gilroy, she graduated from Gilroy High School and moved to San Francisco to pursue a nursing career. It was while attending school that she met and married her late husband, Howard William Lytle, MD, of Stockton. Making their home in San Jose, Peggy and Howard had two children–the late Bill Lytle and Diane Lytle. After the passing of her husband, Howard, in 1988, Peggy rekindled her relationship with her high school sweetheart, Leo Fitzgerald of Stockton. They were married in 1991 and lived in Stockton until his passing in 1997. After his death, Peggy re-located to White Salmon, WA to be closer to her family. Peggy is survived by her daughter, Diane Barkhimer of White Salmon, WA; step-son Michael Fitzgerald of Stockton; grandchildren, Erik and Kirk Barkhimer, Alicia Lord, Lauren and Daniel Lytle,and five great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her brothers Ben and Jack Thomas of Gilroy, and her son Bill Lytle of Palm Springs. Peggy will be inurned at 2:00 P.M. August 9, 2010, in Oak Hill Memorial Park, San Jose next to her husband, Howard. Virginia Mendonca Santos died July 27, 2010, in Hollister. She was 93. A native of Ribeirinha, Graciosa, Azores Islands, she came to Watsonville in 1967. Mrs. Santos worked for Watsonville Cannery and then Green Giant for 15 years. She was a member of Valley Catholic Church and participated in all the Portuguese events.
Rodolfo Suarez Reyes was born in Baguio City, Philippines on December 27, 1939, the youngest of eight children. He passed surrounded by his loved ones at El Camino Hospital early Sunday morning, July 25th, 2010, at 3:45 A.M. Rodolfo proudly served the United States Navy for 20 years, enlisting in 1965.
Son of Nancy and George Grace. He was born and raised in San Juan Bautista and passed away in Texas at the age of 64. Served four years in the Navy. Loving husband, brother and father. His laughter and kindness will be missed. Survived by his wife Linda, his brother George and daughters Julie and Jennifer.
Nonie Angulo entered into eternal rest on July 9, 2010. Nonie was raised in Watsonville, CA and resided in Gilroy, CA. She is survived by her mother, Jenny Angulo, son, Albert Torres, Jr.; brothers, Junior, David, and Benny; sisters, Susie, Rosemary, Gloria Angulo and Barbara Aguirre; Godson, Anthony Knight; Granddaughters, Anastacia, Isabella and Nina Torres; along with numerous nieces and nephews.
A recitation of the Holy Rosary and a Catholic Blessing Service will be held on Sunday and Monday for Virginia Walsh who died at Dominican Hospital in Santa Cruz on July 26, 2010, following a lengthy illness. She was 80 years old.
Allen was born April 25, 1940, and passed away July 23, 2010. He is a Beloved husband to Lindy, "Pop" to Rachel, Joe, Zev, Sarah, and Jacob. He is a brother to Betty Bloom and Mayer "Sonny" Wisotsky as well as many cousins, nieces and nephews. Allen chose to be a teacher and worked in Los Angeles and Gilroy for 30 years. His compassion and ability to see students as individuals helped so many in need. His favorite activity was spending time with his family. He did this by going on camping trips, playing games, and telling stories. Allen loved all sports, but especially baseball. When he was unable to play, fantasy baseball became a new way to enjoy the sport. Allen belonged to Congregation Emeth where he admired Zev and Sarah become a Bar/Bat Mitzvah. His greatest joy was being a part of and planning his grandson Jacob's Bar Mitzvah. Allen was dearly loved and will be missed by his family and friends.
Sam Satoru Tsujimoto entered into rest peacefully on July 17, 2010, in Palo Alto, CA, after a sudden illness. Born in Rumsey, CA on February 27, 1925, Sam was one of five children born to Fugisanojyo and Shinobu Tsujimoto. Sam was married to the love of his life Louise for 59 years, before her death in 2005. They met in Chicago after WWII and married in 1946. In 1950, Sam and Louise moved to California, and settled in Palo Alto where they remained in the same home until their deaths. Sam worked for 32 years for Litton Industries, Menlo Park until his retirement. He loved fishing and spending time with his family. He was quite a character, fun loving and extremely kind and generous. Everyone who knew him has a "Sam Story" to tell. He will be greatly missed!
