Donald K. Shearer

Donald K. Shearer was taken home to be with His Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ at the age of 79. He was born in Berkeley, CA and lived in Tres Pinos since 1991. He lived seven years in Hilmar where his parents published The Hilmar Enterprise and owned a commercial printing shop. He went through grammar school and high school in Garden Grove, CA and his parents published The Garden Grove News and owned a commercial printing plant. He graduated from Cal Poly in San Luis Obispo with a bachelors degree in Printing. He was a commissioned officer in the US Navy Reserve serving three years aboard an amphibious attack cargo ship. He spent time as an assistant mechanical production manager, Wall Street Journal in San Francisco. He sold printing, typesetting and commercial graphic art creation for 28 years for George Lithograph Company in San Francisco. He married his wife, Jackie Hain, in 1978 in State Line, NV. He was a member of Sunnyslope Christian Center in Hollister.

Bret J. Borges

Bret Borges passed away in his home after a long illness on June 16, 2010. Bret was born March 6, 1966 in Watsonville, CA and moved with his family to Hollister when he was just a few months old. Bret attended local schools until the family moved to Hawaii when he was 7. When he turned 13, they moved back to Hollister where he attended and graduated from Calvary Christian School. During his high school years he enjoyed playing on the sports teams and served in the local Little League as an umpire. After high school he married his wife, Julie, and they were married for 23 years. Bret worked as a dispatcher most of his adult life. He enjoyed spending time with his nephews and nieces, baseball, collecting baseball cards, playing golf, all varieties of music, especially jazz, fireworks, enjoyed riding his motorcycle with friends and family, and was very generous and giving.

Anne F. Winn

Anne Winn, age 81, passed away on June 16, 2010, in Salinas, CA. Anne was born in Cambridge, MA on October 27, 1928, and lived in San Francisco. Her parents, Donald and Drucilla Isaacson were avid ranchers and had farms in Kansas, Colorado and eventually settled in San Juan Bautista, CA in 1952.

Vivian Viola Estes Selph

Vivian Viola Estes Selph of San Martin, CA passed away Tuesday, June 15, 2010, of coronary failure. Vivian was born in Ardmore, OK on 4/06/1921 to Roy and Lilly Estes. Vivi (as most friends and family called her) had eight siblings: Clarence, Tommy, Bertha, Velma, Wilmer, Beatrice, Lyndell, and Opal. Vivi married Alvia Selph on July 1, 1936, and had seven children: Shirley, Lloyd, Juanita, Barbara, Debbie, Dawna, and Diana.

Ethel Sherrington

Born on a farm in Canada; resident of Morgan Hill for 35 years entered into rest June 13, 2010. Ethel Sherrington is preceded by her husband Bert ('08) and her daughter Penny Rosa ('00). Ethel and Bert lived their lives to the fullest and were married 68 years. They loved to travel the world, play golf, and enjoy their usual "happy hour" with family and friends. Ethel is survived by her granddaughters Lisa Norquist (Rob), Tiffany Rizo (Anthony), Sherri Mia King (Mike), and five great-grandchildren Cody King, Emily and Ava Norquist, and Anthony and Johnny Rizo. Special thanks to her final caregiver Vicki Verdon for making her happy in her final days. Rest in peace Nana, we love you. Private services to be held.
