A drug raid in the 1100 block of Apache Court in Gilroy on Thursday netted 70 pounds of processed marijuana and 468 marijuana plants with a combined street value of approximately $608,000, according to the Santa Clara County Sheriff’s Office Marijuana Enforcement Team.

Tri Tran, 32, was arrested and booked into the Santa Clara County Main Jail on suspicion of unlawful marijuana cultivation, possession of marijuana for sale and theft of utilities, according to Sgt. Jose Cardoza of the Santa Clara County Sheriff’s Office.

The elaborate indoor operation involved suspended eight-compartment grow bags and multiple illegal hook-ups to the Pacific Gas and Electric Company supply. Several enormous grow lights with multiple wire hook-ups were also suspended from the ceiling, posing a potentially serious fire hazard.
