Services will be held Friday July 1,2011,1:00 P.M. at Johnson Funeral Home, 17720 Monterey Street in Morgan Hill for Paul S. Friebel Sr, who passed away June 26, 2011, in Manteca, CA.
Born December 14, 1931, in Merced, CA. Paul moved to Morgan Hill with his family as a young boy where his family ran a successful egg farm. He went on to graduate from Live Oak High and attened Hartnell College. He served his country in the Army, earning the rank of SGT in the Korean War. After being Honorably discharged from the Army, Paul attended San Jose State University where he received his Masters degree.
Mr. Friebel enjoyed a long teaching career at Live Oak High. He was the varsity baseball coach and his 1967 team won the championship that year. He touched the lives of former students and players, many who he has stayed in touch with through the years.
Mr. Friebel went on to start a trucking company, and worked in private security.
Paul had a passion for life, family and his friends, with whom he enjoyed playing golf on a regular basis.
Survivors include his children Lori Buff and Paul S. Friebel Jr, brother James Friebel, and three grandchildren.
