Caldwell’s Comics & Cards, 7483 Monterey St. in downtown Gilroy, celebrated Free Comic Book Day on May 6, an annual tradition of the store since it opened in 2021. Thousands of comic book shops around the world participated in Free Comic Book Day, with more than six million comic books expected to be distributed. At Caldwell’s, fans lined up inside the store to pick up a free comic book while they checked out the various other games and books that were available to purchase at a discount.
