Police blotter

The Gilroy Police Department recently made arrests for a variety of crimes, including participation in an illegal street gang, possession of an assault weapon, possession of a controlled substance for sale, robbery, driving under the influence and battery on a police officer. Arrests were recorded in the GPD blotter between Oct. 2 and 9. All suspects remain innocent until proven guilty.
Battery on a police officer or emergency personnel
-Ruben Aguilar, 58, Oct. 4 at 1:51 p.m. near the intersection of Monterey and First streets for one misdemeanor charge and being under the influence of alcohol, drugs or a controlled substance.
Burglary
-Stephanie York, 40, Oct. 8 at 11:33 a.m. on the 7100 block of Camino Arroyo for felony first-degree burglary and felony parole hold.
Driving under the influence
-Benoni Sotomayor, 28, Oct. 1 at 11:45 p.m. on the 6900 block of Cameron Boulevard for DUI, driving with a blood-alcohol level of .08 or higher, driving while unlicensed and driving with a suspended license.
-Ricardo Chacon, 42, Oct. 5 at 4:24 p.m. near the intersection of Seventh and Carmel streets for DUI, driving with a BAC of .08 or higher, driving while unlicensed and illegally selling or exhibiting films or CDs for commercial gain.
-Christi George, 51, Oct. 5 at 6:25 p.m. near the intersection of Camino Arroyo and Sixth Street for DUI, driving with a BAC of .08 or higher and an open container violation.
Fraud
-David Bedolla, 25, Oct. 3 at 6:59 p.m. on the 100 block of Old Gilroy Street for one felony charge, felony first-degree burglary, felony possession of a blank check with intent to defraud and a felony charge of making or passing a fictitious check.
Inflicting bodily injury on a spouse or cohabitant.
-Benoni Sotomayor, 28, Oct. 3 at 12:53 p.m. on the 500 block of Stoney Court for one felony charge.
-Sayda Rodriguez, 40, Oct. 5 at 1 a.m. on the 800 block of Morningside Circle.
Multiple charges
-Jacob Delarosa, 27, Oct. 2 at 12:23 a.m. near the intersection of Leavesley Road and San Ysidro Avenue for three charges of felony possession of a narcotic controlled substance, DUI, child endangerment involving unjust pain and suffering, possession of a controlled substance and possession of a designated substance without a prescription.
-Alejandro Montes, 22, Oct. 3 at 3:20 p.m. near the intersection of Miller Avenue and Fourth Street for felony false personation, possession of a controlled substance, DUI, battery against a spouse, cohabitant or friend, use of or being under the influence of a controlled substance and failing to provide evidence of financial responsibility.
-Steve Ojeda, 44, Oct. 3 at 4:43 p.m. on the 100 block of W. Seventh Street for felony possession of a controlled substance, possession of burglary tools and resisting, delaying or obstructing a police officer.
-Efrain Maciel, 31, Oct. 9 at 2:58 p.m. on the 9000 block of Church Street for 15 felony charges, including illegal possession of an assault weapon, felony cultivation of marijuana, being armed to commit a felony, possession of a loaded firearm while possessing illegal drugs and possession of a controlled substance for sale, among other charges.
Outstanding warrants
-Jacob Castro, 29, Oct. 4 at 7:23 p.m. on the 5500 block of Monterey Street for felony robbery and felony contempt of court for willful disobedience.
-Joey Peralta, 47, Oct. 4 at 11:10 p.m. on the 7500 block of Monterey Road for failure to appear on a misdemeanor charge and driving with a blood-alcohol level of .08 or higher.
Participation in a criminal street gang
-Christian Gutierrez, 21, Oct. 3 at 4:34 a.m. near the intersection of Wren Avenue and Maria Way for one felony charge and resisting, delaying or obstructing a police officer.
Petty theft
-Mikayla Cortez, 21, Oct. 7 at 10:35 a.m. at the Gilroy Police Department for one misdemeanor charge.
-Jairo Moreno, 19, Oct. 8 at 7:25 p.m. on the 600 block of Leavesley Road for one charge and providing a false name to a police officer.
Possession of a controlled substance for sale
-Loredo Paster, 55, Oct. 3 at 6:54 p.m. on the 100 block of W. 10th Street for one felony charge and felony possession of marijuana or hash for sale.
Possession of a controlled substance
-Casey Reis, 23, Oct. 4 at 6:56 p.m. on the 300 block of E. 10th Street for two charges—one felony and one misdemeanor—and petty theft.
Possession of a switchblade knife
-Gregory Lopez, 48, Oct. 8 at 5:30 p.m. near the intersection of Church and 10th streets for one misdemeanor charge and an open container violation.
Robbery
-Theresa Munoz, 29, Oct. 2 at 1:50 a.m. near the intersection of Walnut Lane and Forest streets for felony second-degree burglary.
Drinking in public
-Gastelum Acacio, 31, Oct. 3 at 7:58 p.m. on the 7200 block of Monterey Street.
-Oscar Garcia, 36, Oct. 6 at 8 a.m. on the 6900 block of Monterey Street for four charges.
Driving violations
-Alyssa Anthony, 20, Oct. 3 at 4:32 a.m. near the intersection of Wren Avenue and Maria Way for driving without a drivers license in possession and failing to comply with a lawful order.
-David Torres, 23, Oct. 3 at 5:49 p.m. on the 7400 block of Rogers Lane for driving with license suspended or revoked.
Illegal lodging
-Melissa Ortiz, 32, Oct. 6 at 2 p.m. at the Gilroy Police Department for lodging without the consent of the property owner.
Under the influence of alcohol, drugs or a controlled substance
-Bill Dorsey, 56, Oct. 8 at 12:54 a.m. on the 800 block of First Street.
Use of or being under the influence of a controlled substance
-Luis Torres, 31, Oct. 4 at 8:23 p.m. near the intersection of Church Avenue and Gurries Drive.
