Gilroy police made arrests for a variety of crimes between Sept. 1 and 8, including assault with a firearm, indecent exposure, kidnapping and possession of a controlled substance for sale. Arrests were recorded in the Gilroy Police Department blotter and compiled using public records.
Assault
• Gilroy man, 38, Sept. 5 at 9:15 p.m. on the 8100 block of Springdale Court for felony assault with a firearm, displaying an imitation firearm in public, possession of a controlled substance and use or being under the influence of a controlled substance.
• Gilroy man, 25, Sept. 6 at 11:34 p.m. on the 500 block of Seventh Street for felony assault with a firearm, a felony charge for possession of a firearm by a felon, felony carrying of a concealed weapon, felony shooting at inhabited dwelling and possession of ammunition by a prohibited person.
Battery
• Gilroy man, 22, Sept. 3 at 12:33 a.m. on the 8300 block of Arroyo Circle for two misdemeanor charges of battery on a former spouse, fiancé or friend.
• Gilroy man, 29, Sept. 8 at 12:10 a.m. on the 300 block of Leavesley Road for battery on a former spouse, fiancé or friend.
Criminal threats
• San Jose man, 50, Sept. 5 at 10:16 a.m. on the 9700 block of Bunting Court for felony threats to commit a crime with intent to terrorize.
Drugs for sale
• Man with no listed address, 32, Sept. 4 at 7:31 p.m. near the intersection of Monterey and Third streets for felony possession of a controlled substance for sale and possession of 28.5 grams or more of marijuana.
DUI
• Hollister man, 52, Sept. 6 at 12:48 a.m. on the 6100 block of Monterey Road for driving under the influence.
• Gilroy man, 47, Sept. 6 at 4:52 a.m. near the intersection of Eighth and Princevalle streets for driving under the influence, driving with a blood-alcohol level of .08 or higher and driving with privileges suspended or revoked.
• Gilroy man, 34, Sept. 6 at 12:12 a.m. near the intersection of Monterey and First streets for driving under the influence and driving with a blood-alcohol level of .08 or higher.
• Gilroy man, 50, Sept. 7 at 3:13 a.m. on the 800 block of First Street for an outstanding warrant for driving under the influence, driving with privileges suspended or revoked and unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia.
• Gilroy woman, 22, Sept. 8 at 6:06 p.m. near the intersection of Lupine Court and Lions Creek Drive for driving under the influence, driving with a blood-alcohol level of .08 or higher and DUI while on probation.
Embezzlement
• Marina man, 24, Sept. 1 at 2:25 p.m. on the 7100 block of Camino Arroyo for one misdemeanor charge.
False imprisonment
• Gilroy man, 30, Sept. 7 at 7:59 a.m. on the 7200 block of Hanna Street for felony false imprisonment and felony infliction of bodily injury on a spouse or cohabitant.
Indecent exposure
• Man with no listed address, 44, Sept. 8 at 12:10 p.m. on the 8200 block of Swanston Lane for one misdemeanor charge and contempt of court.
Kidnapping
• Gilroy man, 18, Sept. 5 at 6:52 p.m. near the intersection of Mantelli Drive and Wren Avenue for one felony charge, felony false imprisonment and battery on a former spouse, fiancé or friend.

• Morgan Hill man, 42, Sept. 1 at 2:12 a.m. on the 7400 block of Monterey Street for possession of a controlled substance, passing a bad check, resisting, delaying or obstructing a police officer and tampering with a vehicle.
• Man with no listed address, 60, Sept. 2 at 2:47 p.m. on the 6700 block of Camino Arroyo for fighting in public and vandalism with damages $400 or less.
• Hollister man, 26, Sept. 3 at 12:50 p.m. on the 7200 block of Camino Arroyo for illegal lodging and petty theft of personal property.
• Gilroy man, 26, Sept. 4 at 8:38 p.m. on the 6700 block of Camino Arroyo for possession of a controlled substance, possession of drug paraphernalia and illegal lodging without consent of property owner.
• Gilroy woman, 40, Sept. 5 at 10:41 p.m. on the 9200 block of Solana Drive for possession of more than 28.5 grams of marijuana, possession of a controlled substance, possession of drug paraphernalia, improper license plates, driving with privileges suspended or revoked and use or being under the influence of a controlled substance.
• Gilroy man, 33, Sept. 6 at 4:19 a.m. on the 800 block of First Street for use or being under the influence of a controlled substance, possession of a controlled substance and drug paraphernalia and resisting, delaying or obstructing a police officer.
• Gilroy man, 32, Sept. 7 at 1:14 p.m. on the 7500 block of Gourmet Alley for violation of a court order in a domestic violence case and making an annoying phone call with no caller ID.
• Gilroy woman, 41, Sept. 8 at 9:29 a.m. near the intersection of Lewis and Rogers streets for possession of a controlled substance, possession of drug paraphernalia, use or being under the influence of a controlled substance and bringing drugs into jail.
