Stolen vehicle arrest
Former Gilroy Most Wanted member, Mark Ashford, 37, was arrested for possession of a stolen vehicle and for a parole violation after police spotted him driving a stolen white GMC on the 8300 block of Swanston Lane on June 13 at 12:55 a.m. Ashford allegedly tried to evade the officer and drove the vehicle into a chain link fence and escaped on foot. He was soon found on a rooftop in the 8200 block of Springdale Court, was arrested and taken to jail.
Driving under the influence
On June 11 at 9 p.m., 26-year-old Gilroy resident Oscar Rivera was arrested for drunk driving and an outstanding warrant after he allegedly ran a red light in his red Honda Civic near Monte Bello Drive and Wren Avenue. No one else was in the car. Rivera was taken to Santa Clara County Jail and released with a court date.
