Petty theft
Someone went into Quick ‘N’ Easy Market on Murray Avenue and
stole an 18 pack of Budweiser beer, 8:40 p.m. Dec. 26.
Injury accident
The driver of a 1994 White Cadillac hit the center median in front of Costco on Camino Arroyo, 8:28 p.m. Dec. 23.
Vandalism
Someone used a large rock to break the outer glass of a double pane window located next to the front door on Obata Way, between 5 p.m. Dec. 23 and 7:10 a.m. Dec. 24. The inner glass was not damaged and no entry was made into the business.
Someone kicked a 2007 black Kia for no apparent reason, causing damage, on Rogers Lane, 11 p.m. Dec. 24.
Residential burglary
A white notebook computer, a black laptop, two games and accessories, an iPod docking system and a vehicle navigation system were stolen from a residence on Amber Court, between 4:30 p.m. and 6 p.m. Dec. 23. A screen was also broken. The items stolen and damaged total $1,960.
A man was laying in bed on West Seventh Street when he heard a person trying to enter his residence through a bedroom window, 8:25 Dec. 24. The person trying to enter fled before the police arrived.
Assault
Someone went to a man’s motor home during the night. As the man was sleeping, the person started to punch him on his body and bite his arm and stomach on Holloway Road, 4 a.m. Dec. 25. His face was also hit, leaving cut marks.
Someone grabbed a man and attempted to throw him to the ground on Monterey Street, 3:42 p.m. Dec. 26. This assault was a result of an ongoing civil matter involving leased space at the Gilroy Hobby Store.
Petty theft
Someone went into Quick ‘N’ Easy Market on Murray Avenue and stole an 18 pack of Budweiser beer, 8:40 p.m. Dec. 26.
Animal
A dog was hit by a vehicle on Alexander Street near East Eighth Street, 9:50 p.m. Dec. 26. The dog was taken to the emergency clinic in Campbell for treatment. The rear leg of the dog was broken and splinted by staff. The dog was brought back to the kennels and given medication. No owner was located.
Theft
Two Hispanic boys stole a bicycle on First Street, 3:35 p.m. Dec. 27. The owner of the bicycle thinks he recognized one of the suspects as a classmate at Gilroy High School. The bicycle is a 16-inch boys BMX-style, purple bicycle worth $350.
